The role of the spoken language interpreter is to assist linguistically diverse individuals by verbally converting information from one language into another language. An interpreter facilitates communication between individuals in an accurate and culturally responsive way. These individuals can be utilized in settings such as schools, hospitals, courtrooms, meeting rooms and conference centers. Interpreters can also work in person, remotely via internet technology, or by phone.
