Creating More Paths to Success for More Students

There used to be only one path to a good, 21st-century career. But today companies are turning to a number of different places to find talent for their high-growth, high-wage jobs.

A CareerWise youth apprenticeship is a form of work-based learning that applies the academic lessons students learn at school to meaningful work in with modern employers. Students spend part of the week at their high school, and part of the week with their employer, learning alongside professionals. Students receive credit for their apprenticeship, and students get paid

Apprenticeship is different from other work-based learning opportunities like job shadowing or internship, though. Apprentices are trained to be ready to step into a full-time, early-career position by the end of the program—the same kinds of positions sought after by recent college grads.

In addition the work experience resulting in marketable job skills and a professional network, CareerWise apprentices have the opportunity to earn industry certifications and debt-free college credit.
