This Privacy Notice discloses the privacy practices for www.CareerwiseColorado.org and Career Wise’s other online platforms (collectively, the “Online Platforms”). This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this website. It will notify you of the following:

  1. What personally identifiable information is collected from you through the website, how it is used and with whom it may be shared.
  2. What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.
  3. Privacy notice and terms and conditions for our electronic communications and mobile messaging.
  4. The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.
  5. How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

Information Collection

Information You Provide
We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you.

When you apply for positions through our Online Platform, we collect information that you voluntarily supply to us including your name, address, email, mobile number, date of birth, high school, grade level, expected graduation year, extra-curricular activities, equal opportunity information, contact information and communication preferences for your parent or guardian, and your resume and cover letter.

We may use the information collected from you:

  • to present our Online Platform and its contents to you;
  • to provide services to you;
  • to improve the content of our Online Platform or services, including our advertising;
  • to enhance users’ experiences when visiting our Online Platform or using our services;
  • to customize the content and layout of our Online Platform or our services for a customer or for each individual user;
  • to provide you with information about our services that you request from us;
  • to provide you with notices in furtherance of our providing our services to you;
  • to send you targeted messages, publications, news, or information about events or other opportunities;
  • to use third-party service providers to send and distribute e-mail and to perform other marketing and support functions on our behalf or otherwise to assist us in providing our services to you;

Automated Collection

While you browse our Online Platform, we may collect information, that by itself typically cannot be used to identify or contact you, through the use of cookies or other now known or later developed technologies to assist us in observing the behavior of users visiting our Online Platform or using our services. We provide prospective employers with some of your information that you have provided to us in order to be considered for hiring by these prospective employers. We may also share your information with your school counselor. We rely on service providers to help us deliver our services. We may provide your personal information to service providers or contractors to perform functions on our behalf, including, but not limited to, communicating news; performing Online Platform or services development or maintenance; providing functionality or other services for our Online Platform and our services; sending postal mail, email or other communications; removing outdated and repetitive information from our lists; analyzing our data, developing, enhancing, marketing or providing any of our services; or assisting us with other marketing and support functions.

During the course of our business we may also share with third parties aggregated demographic and statistical information that is not personally identifiable.

We may also disclose an individual’s personal information:

  • Change/correct any data we have about you.
  • Have us delete any data we have about you.
  • Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

Electronic Communication. By using the Online Platforms and providing personal information through registration on your profile page, you agree that we may communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your use of the Online Platforms. If we learn of a security system’s breach, you consent that we may attempt to notify you electronically by posting a notice on or through the Online Platforms or sending an email to you.

Mobile Messaging Privacy Policy

When you use the CareerWise Text Messaging program, CareerWise collects, stores and processes some personal information including the number the message was sent to, the content of the message, and other data necessary to provide the CareerWise information via text messaging to you. We may also commingle such information with other information we have collected or that you have provided to us.

 

We maintain and process that information to provide the CareerWise information via text messaging to you and to improve our delivery of CareerWise information via text messaging. Our computers may process the information in your messages for various purposes, including formatting and displaying the information to you, preventing unsolicited bulk messages (spam), backing up messages, and other purposes relating to offering you CareerWise information via text messaging.

 

We take appropriate organizational and technical measures to protect personal information provided to us or collected by us. Except as otherwise provided herein, we only provide access to this information to our authorized employees who have a need for such access in order to be able to fulfill their given duties.

 

We will not sell, rent, trade or otherwise transfer any personal information to any third party other than as set forth in our general privacy notice. However, we will share necessary personal information with carriers, SMS gateway, other text messaging providers, information technology providers and/or agents in order to provide you with the text messaging communications or other services you have requested.

CareerWise and the company we’ve contracted with for this service will not market, sell or share your data with any unauthorized parties. This SMS service will be strictly used for push notifications. Please do not respond directly to this SMS service. Other than opting in or opting out, the originating SMS service account is not monitored and response will not be provided. Please do not send any sensitive information to us through this service.

  • Supported carriers are: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile®, Verizon Wireless, Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, U.S. Cellular, Virgin Mobile. CareerWise may add or remove any wireless carrier from this program without notice.No carrier is liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

  • By opting in to the text messaging communications from a mobile telephone number, you are representing to CareerWise that the mobile number from which you have opted-in is one for which you are authorized to provide consent to receive mobile messages from CareerWise and to allow CareerWise to provide the CareerWise information to you. You agree that if and before you disconnect or transfer your mobile number, you will send all necessary short codes to CareerWise in order to stop future messages from being sent to that number and to terminate the text message communications for that number.
  • CareerWise is not responsible for incomplete, lost, late, or misdirected messages, including, but not limited to, undelivered messages resulting from any form of filtering by your mobile carrier or service provider, the failure of the text messaging communications to provide you with CareerWise information, and cannot guarantee that each user will receive the benefit of the text messaging communications.

Children’s Information

Our Online Platform is not intended for children under the age of 13. In particular, we do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information on our website from children under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent. If we learn that, despite these measures, a child under the age of 13 has submitted personally identifiable information to us through our Online Platform, we will take reasonable measures to delete such information from our records and to not use such information for any purpose (except where necessary to protect the safety of the child or others as required by law).

Security

We are committed to protecting the security of any personal information you provide to us. We maintain commercially reasonable safeguards to maintain the security and privacy of personal information that you provide to us. In spite of these protections, we cannot guarantee the security of any data submitted over or stored on the internet. After your information reaches us, however, it is stored on servers protected by procedures and technology designed to block reasonably foreseeable intrusions by unauthorized third parties. After you have submitted your information online to us, we recommend that you end your browser session before leaving your computer.

Do Not Track

Some web browsers have a “Do Not Track” feature. This feature lets you tell websites you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. These features are not yet uniform across browsers nor is there a common agreement about how to implement these features or interpret user intent. Our services are not currently set up to respond to those signals.

Privacy Notice Changes

We may amend this Privacy Notice from time to time. Should this Privacy Notice be amended in any way, changes will be posted to this Online Platform. As we may make changes from time to time without notifying you, we suggest that you periodically consult this Privacy Notice. Your continued use of our Online Platform or our services after the effective date of any modification to the Privacy Notice will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms.
