On Tuesday, Nov. 10, the Business Experiential Learning (BEL) Commission hosted the 2020 Colorado Apprenticeship Awards. Almost 200 people attended this virtual event honoring the individuals and organizations dedicated to the advancement of apprenticeships in Colorado.
The winners included apprentices, mentors, programs, employers, and partnerships that have demonstrated a remarkable commitment to increasing apprenticeships and expanding access to apprenticeship programs.
In recognition of the important role apprenticeships play in the state’s economy, earlier this month Governor Jared Polis proclaimed November as Colorado Apprenticeship Month. This awards event is one of the high points of Apprenticeship Month. In addition, Colorado joins with states across the nation to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, recognizing the key role that these opportunities play in our economy and in our labor force.
One of Careerwise’s partners, Lesserie Ashley was nominated and chosen for the mentor award! Guiding many apprentices at Pinnacol Assurance, she is of great support for these teens being introduced into the workplace and apprenticeship directing them down the path of success.
