Mark Tapy has been serving as the Interim President at CareerWise Colorado since June 2024. Throughout his career and studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder, he has cultivated a strong passion for assisting individuals in preparing for, entering, and advancing their careers through meaningful postsecondary and workforce opportunities.
Mark comes to CareerWise as the Senior Talent Management Manager at Pinnacol Assurance in Denver, CO, where he has managed work-based learning and talent development systems aimed at cultivating skilled talent for the organization’s staffing needs. Prior to this role, he spent five years as the Apprenticeship Program Manager at Pinnacol, collaborating with local schools, internal stakeholders, policymakers, and CareerWise Colorado to successfully establish one of the largest youth apprenticeship programs in the state. Before his tenure at Pinnacol, Mark directed the Youth Career Development Services Department at Goodwill Industries of Denver for seven years, focusing on high school mentoring, first-generation educational access, job readiness preparation, and socio-emotional wellness for youth. In recognition of his contributions to education and workforce development, Mark was honored as one of the Denver Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 award recipients in 2020.
