Gretchen Morgan is president of CareerWise, a non-profit focused on designing and launching a state-wide youth apprenticeship system offering a range of engaging and rigorous career pathways to students ages 16-20. She also does a range of work nationally in support of assessment pilots, career readiness, personalized learning, and innovation and education. Morgan is also the former Associate Commissioner of Innovation at the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). In that role, she led work in the areas of Innovation and Charter Schools, Online and Blended Learning, Dropout Prevention, Adult Education, Health & Wellness, and Innovation Learning. Prior to being at CDE, Morgan worked as a principal, curriculum and program developer, instructional and leadership coach, and an elementary school teacher. She is the author of Innovative Educators: An Action Plan for Teachers, in which she shows teachers how to adapt existing practices and how to invent new ones that foster a proactive mindset.
