Director of K-12 and Training Center Partnerships
Lauren Trent is the Director of K-12 and Training Center Partnerships for CareerWise Colorado. Prior to joining CareerWise, Lauren was the Deputy Director for Denver Public Schools CareerConnect, a program providing 6,000+ high school students relevant courses while connecting them with partner companies and higher education institutions for hands-on workplace experiences and mentoring—all within Colorado’s high-opportunity industries. Before her time at DPS, Lauren most recently worked for Huron Consulting Group, where she led large projects helping education organizations set organizational strategy and improve operational performance. Lauren has also consulted in a number of different industries, including banking, healthcare, and manufacturing. Lauren has a B.S. From Indiana University and an MBA from Northwestern University. She is currently a candidate for a Masters in Educational Leadership from the Broad Residency, a highly competitive leadership development program that places participants into high-level managerial positions in school districts and federal/state departments of education. Lauren’s passion for youth career pathways began while advising on the launch of Blue Sky Bakery, a social enterprise and job training program for homeless and at-risk youth in Chicago. She believes that career exploration, professional adult connections, and quality experiential learning are critical tools in helping every student envision and pursue his or her own personalized path to success—and also in building a world-class talent pipeline right here in Colorado.
