CareerWise Open House
Mesa County Workforce Center, Business Center
512 29 1/2 Rd. Grand Junction
The Mesa County Workforce in collaboration with Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce, School District 51, Western Colorado Community College (WCCC) and CareerWise Colorado are hosting an Open House for high school students, parents and employers interested in the CareerWise youth apprenticeship program.
CareerWise Colorado is creating an innovative system of business led, student-centered youth apprenticeships in high-paying, high demand fields in Mesa County and across the state. Apprenticeships will work in paid positions two or three days each week while continuing to earn credit toward high school graduation as well as college credit or industry credentials. Businesses will gain access to highly trained talent while offering a clear career path to their apprentices along with the the flexibility to move into new careers in the future.
Workforce Center Director Curtis Englehart states, “We are very excited to see how the students and businesses interact. This is all about building a future workforce for Mesa County.”
All parents and high school students are encouraged to attend and meet local employers who are participating in the CareerWise program. Additionally, interested employers are encouraged to attend to learn more about becoming a CareerWise partner.
