Director of Public Affairs, Denver Public Schools
Gregory Hatcher has worked for Denver Public Schools for the last five years. He currently serves and leads as the Director of Public Affairs. His team works to strategically align high-impact, external-facing work and resources, while also managing school and district-wide change and strategic initiatives with an emphasis on partnering with students, families, teachers, and communities. In addition to this work, Gregory serves as the school district’s lead in house lobbyist.
Before joining DPS, Gregory spent three years working for Stand for Children – a national membership based advocacy and community organizing organization focused on improving public K-12 education for all kids in Colorado. He served in various different rolls while at Stand, but ended his career there helping to lead their expansion in to Aurora Public Schools.
Gregory currently serves on various boards in the Denver community, including: Boys and Girls Club of Colorado Alliance, Chair; Denver Public Library, Mayoral-Appointed Commissioner; and the NE Denver Collective Impact, Founding Board Member. Gregory also served as a founding board member of Montessori Del Mundo Charter School; and he served on the Girls Athletic Leadership School (GALS) charter board for two years prior to that.
One of Gregory’s core beliefs is ensuring every child receives a high quality education and access to opportunities that prepare them for success in college and career.
Gregory is a Colorado native who currently lives in Denver with his wife, Rebecca, and their three dogs: Beau, Charlie, and Walter.
